Care & Cleaning of Diamond Knives

Rumex Diamond Knives Handles - Rumex International ThermoCut® diamond knife handles are manufactured from titanium which is famous for its lightness (40% less then stainless steel) noncorrosion and non magnetic features. We guarantee Rumex International ThermoCut® titanium handles for life.

Care & Handling of the Diamond Knives - The blades should be examined under high magnification before each case. After each use the blade should be immediately retracted into the handle, the blade should never touch any metal surface.

Cleaning - After each use the blade should be immediately flashed off with distilled water through a syringe. A surgical sponge moistened with distilled water should be used to gently wipe, without pressure, along the edges and the sides of the blade toward the point. Never wipe the blade away from the point of blade.
Steam cleaner can be used for cleaning procedure.

Due to improper cleaning, a cloudy or opaque film appears on the blade. This is due to build up of blood and cellular debris on the blade. If this happens, the diamond blade should be cleaned as mentioned in the above procedure but the sponge should be moistened with full strength hydrogen peroxide.

Sterilisation - The knives should be stored and protected during sterilization in specially designed plastic sterilization trays separately from other instruments. Knives can be gas or steam sterilized. The blades should be cleaned properly before sterilizing. If not, the blood and residual debris will be backed on the blade.
